Imagination as an Ingredient in Success

To progress toward the attainment of your goals, you must have some idea of what that will look like once you attainment them. While this sounds simple, it can be difficult to find the time to do this. We tend to go through our routines and respond to the demands of the moment.

But taking the time to image what your outcome will look like and feel like - even for just 10 minutes a day - can accelerate the attainment of your goals. This has happened to me so many times, including most recently, with a house I purchased.

One of the things I love is sitting in a dry sauna, and I used to do this at my local gym. But the men who shared the sauna with me made the experience unpleasant. Playing music, leaving plastic bottles and paper towels on the benches and loud talking distracted from what I would otherwise be pleasurable. So I committed in my mind to have my own private sauna, and I would think about this often, especially during my time in the sauna.

I had been in the market for a new home for almost two years, and found myself either uninspired by a given property, or outbid by another buyer. In July 2019 I was still renting and my lease was up, so I signed it a few days prior to the end date.

And then my realtor called me saying he had just one more property I had to see. When I peaked into the dry sauna attached to the bathroom shower I couldn’t believe it! And now I use that sauna three to five times a week. It’s clean and quiet, and my wife can join me!

This has happened with so many other things in my life, and not all of them positive. The things we think about intently do come into our lives, and if those things are based on worry they can bring into your life the very thing you don’t want.

So take some time to envision what you want to be, have or do. Do this often throughout the day, and especially right before falling asleep. This practice will supercharge your goals, and they will arrive in your life in proportion to the detail you give your thoughts and the emotion you put behind them.
