Scrum - On Weekends

The weekend is here, and maybe you slept in a little longer than during the week. Your routine is certainly different, so do you sit down and do a morning Scrum? With rare exceptions, I do, but I’m not saying that everyone should. Having a day without a list to check off can be like a mini-vacation that allows your day to develop on a whim. But it is also possible that you could feel like you didn’t accomplish anything at the end of the day. And that’s okay too! Weekends often fill themselves with those projects we don’t have time to get to during the week. And those projects are definitely tied to one or more of your values, even if you haven’t made the connection yet.

For me, having a nice home environment is one of the things I value, so if I do something on the weekend connected to this value, it will be on my Daily Scrum and would have come from my Sprint Plan. It feels good to acknowledge that and notice how it brings me closer to my bigger goal.

So weekends are really up to you. The advantage of doing it on weekends is the continued momentum from doing it every day, and the positive reinforcement gives you as you continue to progress toward living according to your values.
