Your Daily Scrum

If you’ve been using Scrum for Your Life, no doubt you’ve found that the Daily Scrum is the easiest part of this process. And while I recommend doing it first thing in the morning, some people choose to do it at the end of the day. Either way is fine. You either are carrying something over that’s not done from the day before, or looking at your Sprint Backlog to see what is next to put into your daily task list.

But Kevin, isn’t this just like a to-do list? Yes and no. Remember where these tasks came from. You should be able to trace every task backwards through your Sprint Backlog, to your Master Backlog and ultimately to your highest values. If you’re just making a to-do list based on the activities of the previous day, or the loudest voice in the room, you’re missing the most important part of Scrum for Your Life.
